FAQ

Is the answer always self-explanatory?

Not at all, that’s part of the challenge with conceptualising SDGs. At times, you might also want to suggest additional labels.

We suggest that you look at each text with a little bit of flexibility. If you perceive strong or moderate relevance between the text and the suggested SDG – choose to agree (Yes) , and the relevance is particularly weak or non-existent – choose to disagree (No).

Can I update my answers?

Your labels are saved immediately and it is not possible to return to any of the previous items.

Can I double check the nature of each SDG before I label the text?

Of course. You are free to take as much time as you need to label the text.

If you aren’t sure what a specific SDG stands for, navigate to the left sidebar and click on the question mark button. It will provide you with a link to the official UN website where all the SDGs are presented in detail.

Will I be able to compare my answers with the community?

Not at this stage. Although we introduced you to the Review your labels page in the trial exercise, we want to allow our volunteers the freedom to assign SDG labels the best way they see fit. There are no right or wrong answers here.

Can other volunteers see my statistics?

No. Your progress, such as the number of labels and exercises you have completed, are only visible to you. We are planning to introduce anonymised comparisons in the future, so that you will get a better understanding of the community behind OSDG. Stay tuned!

I cannot access the labelling tool. What should I do?

Once you click Start labelling, a new tab should open automatically, transfering you to our labelling tool. To make sure it is properly displayed on your screen, please disable any pop-up blocker software or browser plug-ins.

If you encounter any other issues, please get in touch with our support team or chat with us directly via the live chat box on the lower right-hand side of the page.
